Equipoise is the trade name for the anabolic steroid boldenone. It is an oil-based injectable formulation with the addition of the ester undesilenate. The added ester helps to increase the half-life and release rate of the drug. This substance is a testosterone derivative with symmetrical anabolic effects but reduced androgenic effects. Equipoise is a veterinary drug. However, it has gained popularity among bodybuilders and athletes as a form of testosterone, a derivative with less estrogenic and androgenic effects. Equipoise is often compared to nandrolone (Deca-Durabolin), but this is not a good comparison because nandrolone has different properties and completely different class of compounds (19-nor or progestins). However, many people consider Equipoise and Nandrolone to be interchangeable, even in anabolic steroid schemes.
Description and history
Equipoise was developed in 1949, before Dianabol (methandrostenolone), which technically makes it the first synthetic derivative of testosterone. Furthermore, Dianabol itself is actually Equipoise (boldenone). The difference lies in its chemical structure, in which a methyl group is attached to a 17-beta hydroxyl group (also known as C17-alpha alkylation). This structure makes the substance orally bioavailable. In general, Dianabol can be considered an oral form of Equipoise, but the methylation of the 17th carbon atom changed the properties of the compound so much that it became known as a completely different anabolic steroid analog and was given the name methandrostenolone (Dianabol).
If we look at pictures of the chemical structure of Equipoise and Dianabol, we can see that they have the same structure, except for the methyl group added on the 17th carbon of the Dianabol structure. Otherwise, it is clear that these two anabolic steroids are almost identical.
Equipoise, which was developed in 1949, did not appear on the market until the 1960s under the trade name Parenabol. During this time, Ciba developed and tested various modifications of Equipoise by adding esters to increase its half-life and release rate. The final solution was the release of boldenone undesilenate with the addition of the ester of the same name. Then, from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, various studies and experiments were conducted with Parenabol for use as an anabolic steroid to stimulate and maintain muscle in the treatment of osteoporosis and diseases associated with emaciation and weight loss. By the late 1970s, parenabolol had only very limited use, which led to its withdrawal from production.
The company then cancelled the patents on this anabolic steroid and reintroduced boldenone under the name Equipoise. It is now a veterinary anabolic steroid used primarily in horses and less frequently in other animals. Equipoise is known as a drug that increases muscle strength. Like all anabolic steroids, it stimulates appetite, but unlike the others, it does so to a much greater (higher) degree. The manufacturers and sellers of Equipoise have changed over time, but it is still available both in the US and on the world market under various brand names and names.
Dosage and use
Typically, bodybuilders inject 400 to 600 mg of boldenone undesilenate per week. Experienced weightlifters, on the other hand, experiment with higher doses, sometimes up to 800 mg per week.
In reality, this steroid is active in the body for 4 weeks, but a weekly injection schedule helps to maintain more stable levels and higher concentrations of the active ingredient in the body.
In addition to endurance and strength, Equipoise provides very high quality muscle mass. However, it is not a fast-acting steroid, so weight gain will be slow and steady. Due to its mild side effects, it can take a very long time to take the drug. A course of Equipoise lasts an average of 14-18 weeks. Some bodybuilders extend their courses to 20 weeks, but such long courses require extra care and experience.
When combined with steroids such as Anadrol or Sustanon 250, Equipoise can be used successfully to increase body mass. Such a course provides noticeable gains in muscle mass and good endurance. The average dosage for weight gain is 600 mg per week. For bulking it can be combined with Winstrol and/or Trenbolone or used alone. Incredible vein definition and relief are guaranteed. The average dose for weight gain is 400 mg per week.
Equipoise use in combination with testosterone in its various modifications is generally aimed at building muscle mass. Parasti lieto testosterona enantātu vai testosterona cipionātu, un estera formas atbilst Equipoise ilgajam pusperiodam. They are long-acting compared with other preparations, mainly because their half-life results in a slow release of the main active substance and consequently a longer time is needed to achieve a visible effect.
Combining Equipoise with other drugs
Equipoise is usually used in combination with testosterone enanthate (or cypionate) for beginners, which helps to ensure a significant increase in muscle mass in the long term. Equipoise is a highly versatile steroid that can be used for mass gain and weight loss in combination with other AAS and alone. Basically, it provides very clean muscle mass with good strength gains. Equipoise acts very slowly and steadily, so it should be used for a very long time.
Since it has very similar anabolic properties to Deca Durabolin, they are often compared to each other. Their main difference is that EQ has far fewer side effects. Perhaps the biggest drawback of Equipoise is its detectability. Doping tests can detect Equipoise residues long after the last injection. Therefore, athletes being tested for anabolic drugs need to be very careful with Equipoise.
Overall, it is a very safe and versatile steroid that gives more than adequate results. This safety makes Equipoise one of the most popular steroids among female athletes.
